I'm a graphic designer who has always had a passion for art and finding new ways to be creative. NiftySwank is a place to do this, mixing my love of paper and design. I enjoy using color and pattern and creating a vintage feel in a modern way. They are just little things, but I love creating fun and bright paper goods for people to use!

Isn't her work beautiful? I can't wait to see it in person. You can find her on her etsy store, NiftySwank, in the meantime.

~Zinney Lou Totes~

April Ballou is the talented seamstress behind the darling 'Zinney Lou' and her totes. You have to go and visit her website and learn all about the time and effort that goes into each hand sewn tote. They are so cute and so well made. I am super excited to have April as one of our sellers.

I asked April what is the story behind the name and it seems that when she was very young her mom would call her Zinney Lou. She has 4 sons and no daughters (no girls to carry those cute bags around?!) and used to make vests for her boys when they were young. But as anyone who sews knows at some point in time it's no longer 'cool' to wear handmade goods so she started sewing for herself. She received a lot of compliments on her totes and decided to sell them. She started selling them in boutiques and hair salons and the rest is history!

Here are a few examples of what you will be able to buy at the show...just imagine, your very own 'Zinney Lou' original.
You'll be the envy of all your friends!
(unless you bring them along and then they can buy one too!) ;D

*I'm so sad to report that April won't be joining us after all. We will miss her and her darling bags!

*Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread*

One of our favorite fall goodies here at Fallow Field Farms is pumpkin bread with plenty of chocolate chips so I thought I would share the recipe with you.

3 c. white sugar 1 Tbsp nutmeg
1- 15oz can pumpkin puree 2 tsp baking soda
1 c. vegetable oil 1 1/2 tsp salt
2/3 c. water 1 c chocolate chips
4 eggs 1/2 c chopped walnuts
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. In a large bowl, combine sugar, pumpkin, oil, water and eggs. Beat until smooth. Blend in flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Fill pans 1/2-3/4 full. Bake for 1 hr. or until an inserted knife comes out clean. Cool on wire racks before removing from pans. This bread freezes well.

Hope you make this and enjoy the heck out of it! Our little bake sale girl will also be making some that you can buy.:D

~Huckleberry Cottage~

Meet the very talented Tanya Wilkinson. She is the artist behind the stitchery patterns for her little business, Huckleberry Cottage. Tanya does beautiful hand stitching and she uses her stitcheries to do unique pillows and framed pictures. She also dabbles with paper crafts and makes darling tins & cards. On top of all of that she is the very proud mother of 4 amazing boys and spends most days in her car driving those boys to every sport under the sun!

Here is a sampling of this talented ladies work...

Here's a little hello from Tanya....

Hi everyone! I am Tanya Wilkinson, and I own a little company called Huckleberry Cottage. I love to do stitchery, and sew, and that is what my company is all about. I design patterns, and have ventured lately into making and selling my finished products. It's way fun! I have also dipped my hands into the paper world. I love it too! I love to shop for the perfect coordinating papers, just as I do with fabrics. After shopping, I can't wait to get home and put it all together. It is the love of my life, along with my 4 sons and hubby.
I can't wait to see you at Fallow Field Farm! I feel privileged to have been invited to be part of this event. You will all love it! I will see you there!

If you'd like to see more of Tanya then you can visit her website at or click on her name above to see her blog.

Melinda Smith Photography

I am so thrilled to have Melinda join us. She is a great friend, sweet lady and absolutely amazing photographer!!

Mindy will be setting up appointments to do photo shoots while here.

Hi, I'm Mindy, and I'm so excited to be part of Fallow Field Farm! I love love love the art of photography! I love capturing some cute little guy's personality, or the togetherness and affection in a family. I love capturing the sweet innocence of a little girl, or the serenity of a brand new baby, or the tender love of a newly married couple. These life moments are so fleeting, and I am so blessed to be able to capture a few of the precious times before they are gone.
I've always loved vintage things... I live in a 100 year old home! The photos that really make me smile are the ones I put a little vintage finish to... I also love taking pictures of everyday things and turning them into something unexpected. Vintage things just feel like home... warm, comfortable, but fresh and new at the same time.

You can visit Mindy's photography blog here...

meet Staci Thacker...

Staci Thacker is the very talented proprietor of
~Little Lovelies~
and will be joining us at Fallow Field Farm.

She makes lovely hand decoupage picture frames...

And sweet little beaded earrings...

When asked what inspires her to handcraft this is what she said...

~I have wanted to open a little shop to sell my handmade things for a long long time. I really love handmade items, and the unique flair they can add to your home/wardrobe. I really love printed pictures and sadly we really don't {or at least I don't} see printed photos much anymore in this digital age. But, with the pretty frames I sell, we can have a reason to print those pictures from that favorite trip and put them on display in a unique and lovely way.

You should hop over and look at all the sweet things in her
etsy store. Or visit her blog.
